What Tai Chi and Yoga have in common?

By practicing both arts, I came to a realization that Tai Chi and Yoga have many similarities. Both exercises came to the West from the East. Originally both types were used only in small groups of specific people. They both help strengthen body and they help develop better balance and flexibility. Tai Chi and Yoga keep the mind healthy and can lead to developing better focus. Also they both have meditative qualities. They share similarities in breathing, especially using abdominal breath. If this list did not convince you yet, then try them out and see for yourself.

What Tai Chi or Yoga class should I take?

If you have never taken any Tai Chi or Yoga class before and you would like to make your body more flexible and stronger I would recomend to start with a beginner class or possibly to consider a private class.

If you have some knowledge and practice behind your hat, you can join any type of Tai Chi or Yoga class. One important rule of thumb is to remember to honor our own body. It is a good idea to let go of competing with ourselves or others and also to let go of judging ourselves. We have this specific body and our own skills that we need to embrace and just allow ourselves to go with the flow…

What will I get back from practicing Tai Chi or Yoga?

Besides becoming stronger physically and improving balance and flexibility, your mind will get clearer and happier. You will be able to sleep better and enjoy your life more fully.

Will Tai Chi or Yoga practice force me into particular religion?

Neither Tai Chi nor Yoga practice makes anyone start believing in something different than they already do. In my classes the focus is on physical and mental well-being, every religion is welcome.
